Coming Up: Dress Down Day and Book Fair!!

This Thursday, November 30th is Dress Down Day!!  This month, we are collecting tzedakah in support of the Royal Canadian Legion in honour of Remembrance Day.  Don’t forget to bring your loonies and toonies!!

Next week, the OJCS Scholastic Book Fair begins!!  SK-A will be visiting the Book Fair on Wednesday, December 6th and SK-B will be visiting on Thursday, December 7th and the kids will have a chance to purchase some books.  We have already sent home a flyer in your child’s Note Tote; if you would like to go through it with your child and pick a few options, it will give you a sense of how much money to send to school.  We ask that you send your child’s money in a ziploc baggie with their name on it and the total amount you are sending.  You can also send a list of preferred books with your child, though we cannot guarantee that every title will be available.  Parents are also welcome to visit the Book Fair during the designated times as outlined on the poster below.  Any questions?  Feel free to comment on this post!

OJCS Scholastic Book Fair starts next week!

Next week, the OJCS Scholastic Book Fair begins!!  SK will be visiting the Book Fair on Tuesday, November 23rd at 11:05 am and the kids will have a chance purchase some books.  There will be a flyer in your child’s backpack today…. if you would like to go through it or check out the online link with your child and pick a few options, it will give you a sense of how much money to send to school.  You are also more than welcome to make purchases online!!  If anyone is away on Tuesday or forgets to bring money, we will have a second chance to visit the Book Fair on Thursday, November 25th.  Any questions?  Feel free to comment below!

As the weather continues to change, we are now at the time of year where we are asking for all children to be sent with splash pants and boots in the morning, along with jackets, hats and mitts.  The playground is quite wet each morning and the extra layers will hopefully help to keep everyone dry.  We also ask that indoor shoes be sent in and kept at school.  We do have a bag of extra clothes for most of the kids, but if you’re not sure or you think it needs refreshing, feel free to send another bag with your child as it’s always helpful to have options.  We recommend sending quite a few pairs of extra socks if you haven’t already.  Also, please make sure that you send in replacement items as needed.

Thanks!

The SK team
