First Day In Kindergarten

What an amazing day we all had. Our start this morning with the beautiful ceremony was such a meaningful beginning to the year!  We all went on a scavenger hunt in the classroom to find some of the items in our room. The final item was the treasure chest where we all chose a treasure to take home. For our first day story we read the Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. Chester the raccoon misses his Mom and she tells him how she will kiss his hand and then she will always be with him.  Your child may ask you for a kiss in their hand tomorrow morning. Everyone went home with a few kisses in a bag from their teachers today. It should hopefully still be in their backpack.)  On a special mat with our names everyone had a chance to trace their name with playdough. These mats will be available through the year. Please check your child’s note tote each day and empty out their beautiful art and work. If you have not sent in their extra clothes to leave at school, please do

so, if possible in a large Ziploc bag with their name on it. Stay tuned for our first day in Kindergarten pic….coming on the blog shortly.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email me at j.darwish@theojcs.ca   Thank-you to everyone for making the first day so great!
